I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the release of a cookbook that revolves around the creation of foods with insects as the main course.
This was the release party for “The Insect Cookbook” in The Netherlands, in which Chef Henk van Gurp attempted to break the record for world’s largest grasshopper cake… Because, well, why not?
But wait, there’s more… delicious caramelized grasshoppers and scrumptious mealworms were used to decorate a cake and cupcakes made of insects.
Did you know? The nutritional value of insects is similar to those of meat, and the emission of greenhouse gases from insect production is a hundred times lower than in pig production.
